The Ban Lat Ox Cart Racing Festival returns in March 2026 as part of the district’s
109th anniversary celebrations. The five-day event preserves one of Phetchaburi’s
century-old agricultural traditions while promoting tourism and strengthening
the local economy.

Ban Lat is known for its farming heritage, palm sugar production, cattle raising,
distinctive cuisine and traditional Thai-style houses. The festival reflects this
strong local identity and rural way of life.

Festival Highlights

Visitors can watch traditional ox cart speed races, ploughing cart demonstrations,
cattle track races and miniature ox cart displays. The programme also includes
palm tree climbing competitions, palm fruit contests, cattle games, cultural
exhibitions and live performances of Phetchaburi folk music.
